History of the School

A Brief History

2006 -Originally known as the ‘Saplings Midlands’ the school opened its doors in February 2006 and was located at Oaklawns Mullingar, with an initial enrolment of 6 children.

2011– Saplings Mullingar was granted an official roll from the Department of Education and Skills and in

2012– Saplings Mullingar relocated to a larger temporary premises on Austin Friar Street in Mullingar.

2016– Saplings Mullingar was placed on the Departments School Building Programme 2016-2021.

2019-The Building Project commenced in February 2019 on the former site of the Penn Building Factory located on the Lynn Road Saplings opened for the students on December 13th 2019
